The Time of My Life: Five Luminous Days With Ammanuel Santa

Anna, A Wild Party That Was Also A Temple, And The Permanent Re-Patterning That Followed

A First-Person Field Report From Inside The Luminous

Prosperity Immersion — Where Dancefloor and Dharma Are One Instrument and Everything, Truly Everything, Flows From States

Prologue — The Sentence That Will Not Leave Me Alone

Everything flows from states.

I had read the sentence. I had nodded at it the way one nods at sentences that sound true and slightly inconvenient. I had even quoted it, once, at a dinner party, in the easy way a person quotes a thing they have not yet earned. What I had never done — until five days inside the field that Ammanuel Santa Anna and the Luminous Prosperity lineage build for a living — was feel the sentence verify itself in my own nervous system, hour after hour,

until the verifying became the curriculum and the curriculum became my new life.

I am writing this from a kitchen at six in the morning, barefoot, in a body that has finally stopped rehearsing its own day. Eight weeks ago, the version of me who booked a seat at the Luminous Prosperity Immersion did so half-skeptically, half-desperately, and with no idea what was about to happen. I had been to retreats. I had done the silent ones, the cathartic ones, the expensive ones that turned out to be content delivery in pretty linens. I thought I knew the genre.

There is no genre for this. People who have been call it the luminous Burning Man, which is true and inadequate at the same time. True because there is a wildness, a beauty, an art-built world, a reverence for play, and a 3 a.m. dancefloor that will live inside your nervous system for the rest of your life. Inadequate because Burning Man does not promise to restructure your relationship to money, time, body, love, and creativity in five days, and this retreat does, and then it actually delivers.

What follows is the longest love letter I have ever written. It is also a field report, a peak-experience inventory, a body diary, and an attempt to outline the retreat itself — because friends keep asking what to expect, and I went to a retreat wildly under-describes the truth.

I. The Architecture of Arrival — Why The Field Was Already

Doing The Work Before The First Word Most retreats begin when the facilitator starts speaking. This one had been working on me for forty minutes before Ammanuel said hello. That is not an accident. That is the entire claim of the lineage: the field is the curriculum. Tune the field, and the

teaching lands. Skip the field, and you can deliver brilliant content into a roomful of bracing nervous systems and watch nothing stick.

So before any concept arrived, the room had already begun to instruct. Lighting was warm and unhurried. Music played at a volume that felt like a hand on the back rather than a pull on the sleeve — about seventy beats per minute, the pace of a body that has stopped running. Tea was offered without ceremony, which is to say with great ceremony. Cushions had been arranged so no one had to choose between dignity and rest. Eyes met mine the way eyes meet you when somebody trusts you are already a friend, and is just waiting for the introductions to catch up. I noticed my shoulders drop the way one notices a sudden weather change. I noticed my breath lengthen on its own. I noticed that the part of me that usually narrates rooms — who is here, who is watching, what is expected — went quiet, not because I had silenced it, but because it could not find anything to be vigilant about.

That is luminous prosperity at the level of architecture: a deliberate, technical, lovingly engineered absence of demand. By the time Ammanuel arrived, my system was already in the state from which everything he was about to teach could be received without translation.

II. The Wild Party Is Not The Reward For The Dharma. The Wild

Party IS The Dharma.

Let me be precise about this, because most people misread it. A wild party in this lineage is not chaos with a soundtrack. It is not the weekend reward at the end of the serious work. It is not the

spiritual bypass dressed in sequins. It is, instead, the deliberate cultivation of unselfconscious aliveness in a room full of regulated nervous systems. It is what happens when celebration is taken seriously enough to be designed with the same precision normally reserved for liturgy.

The music was extraordinary — not loud-for-loud's-sake, not dense-for-density's-sake, but layered, dynamic, intentional, the kind of curation that knows exactly when a room needs a four-onthe-floor pulse to lift the chest and when it needs a low devotional drone to send the spine into reverence. The lights were not concert lights. They were temple lights that happened to move. The DJ — and I will say this clearly, the DJ was the best I have ever heard in any room, anywhere, including festivals I have paid serious money for — was not entertaining us. The DJ was facilitating us, with a turntable instead of a microphone.

People danced like nobody had told them they were not allowed to. People laughed like the laughter was a sacrament and not a coping strategy. People wept in the middle of the floor and nobody made it weird and nobody made it the center of attention; the room just opened a slightly larger circle around them and kept moving, the way a forest keeps growing around a tree that is finally allowed to fall.

And at some point during every session — usually somewhere in the middle, never on cue — I would notice: this is the dharma. The dancefloor was not a reward you received after the meditation; the dancefloor was the meditation, expressed in a different octave. Stillness and motion were two settings on the same instrument. Ammanuel could turn the dial in either direction without losing the thread. I have rarely been in the presence of a teacher who could move from a thirty-second silence to a 138-bpm peak and back to silence and have it feel like one continuous breath. He can. The whole lineage can. That is the marriage.

Dancefloor and dharma, effortlessly one. Not alternating. Not balanced. Identical, viewed from different angles. Once you experience that — even once — the modern split between serious spiritual work and frivolous joy collapses, and you cannot un-see it. You realize that anyone who treats joy as superficial has simply never met joy at the depth where it is indistinguishable from prayer.

III. Everything Flows From States — Watching The Hypothesis

Verify Itself In Real Time The phrase everything flows from states sounds like a slogan until you watch it operationalize itself across five days of evidence. What I observed, and eventually became evidence of: A regulated, curious, generous person makes better decisions, writes better sentences, prices their work more honestly, loves more cleanly, recovers from setbacks faster, and tolerates good news without sabotage. The same person, dysregulated, cannot do any of those things, no matter how much information they have. State is not soft. State is the operating system.

A coherent group outperforms a more talented dysregulated group. Coherence is not a vibe; it is a measurable shift in how attention, trust, and creative risk move through a system. You can feel the moment a room moves from collection of individuals managing themselves to field metabolizing together. It is unmistakable. It is also engineerable.

Money in particular is downstream of state. Undercharging, overworking, hoarding, freezing in front of an invoice, apologizing for prices, refusing receipts of love or money or praise — none of these are information problems. They are state problems wearing information costumes. You cannot strategize your way out of a

contracted state. You can only strategize from whatever state you are in. Change the state, and the strategies that were invisible become obvious.

Recognition, not acquisition, is the actual abundance. You can feel a roomful of people stop seeking abundance and start recognizing it, and the texture of the room changes — softer, slower, more spacious, infinitely more generous. The seeking was the contraction. The recognition is the home.

In the context of Non-Dual Holistic Abundance, this is non-duality made operational. If abundance is the recognition of fullness rather than the acquisition of objects, the only real question is: what state lets you recognize the fullness that is already here? And once you know that, the rest of the work — gratitude, generosity, pricing, the seven dimensions, ecological belonging, temporal ease — is not separate teachings. It is scaffolding around a single, almost embarrassingly available recognition. Ammanuel teaches state. Everything else is the lovely, necessary infrastructure around it.

IV. The Profound Pedagogy — Six Movements You Only See In Retrospect

It is easy, in the afterglow, to describe Ammanuel's work as mystical. It is more accurate, and more honoring, to describe it as exquisitely engineered. The pedagogy has a structure. He weaves the structure so fluidly that you only notice it later, the way you notice the architecture of a beautiful song after the song is over. Land. Before any concept enters, the body is invited home.

Breath, ground, support, slowness. The nervous system is given more time than facilitators usually allow it, because most

facilitators are uncomfortable with how long landing actually takes. Ammanuel is comfortable with it. He waits. The room exhales.

See. A clear, unsentimental, unmoralizing naming of what is. The pattern. The contraction. The inherited story. The cultural distortion. He names it without shaming it. The room feels the relief of being seen accurately — which is, by itself, often the entire teaching.

Inquire. A live, embodied question — not a journaling prompt to take home. Something asked into the room that requires the body to answer before the mind can edit. Where do you feel that? What would it be like to receive without flinching? What is the smallest amount of trust you can practice right now?

Practice. A specific, repeatable technique — a breath, a gesture, a partner exercise, a contemplative move. Always small enough to fit in a real life. Always real enough to produce a shift.

Celebrate. This is the move almost nobody else does well. At the very moment a state shifts, Ammanuel amplifies it. The music comes up. The room moves. Joy is not delayed until after integration; joy is the integration, because the nervous system has to learn that this state is allowed to be loud. This is where the dancefloor stops being entertainment and becomes the curriculum. Without this step, the new state stays small and apologetic. With it, the new state becomes home.

Integrate. A return to stillness, but a different stillness than the one we started in. Quieter. More spacious. Stillness that has met the dancefloor and is no longer afraid of it. From this stillness, commitments are made. They tend to be light, specific, and sustainable, because they are made from coherence rather than urgency.

These six movements happen at every scale. Within a five-minute exercise. Within a ninety-minute session. Within a three-day arc. Within the full immersion. It is fractal. The body learns the rhythm at one resolution and recognizes it at every other. That is part of why it works. The pattern is being installed at the cellular level the entire time.

V. The Marriage of Aliveness, Wisdom, and Technical Expertise

This is the sentence I keep wanting to write, and I will write it now so it cannot be missed:

In Ammanuel's field, aliveness, wisdom, and technical expertise are not three things. They are one experience, viewed at three resolutions.

Most teachers I have encountered are excellent at one of these and adequate at the other two. The technical experts can be correct and lifeless. The aliveness people can be euphoric and confusing the next morning. The wisdom holders can be profound and faintly grim. Ammanuel collapses the trichotomy. The aliveness is generated by precise technique. The technique is animated by deep wisdom. The wisdom is recognizable because it produces real, embodied, undeniable aliveness. There is no place where one ends and another begins. It is a single fluid expression — effortless in the sense that all genuine mastery is effortless: there is no visible strain, only the lived result of having cared, for a long time, about getting it right.

When people ask me what luminous prosperity is, really, I now think this is the truest answer I can give: it is the recognition that you do not have to choose between depth and joy, between rigor and play, between earning a living and living a meaningful life. The split was never real. The work is to remember.

VI. A Partial Catalogue of Peak Experiences I Will Carry Forever

In no particular order, because they refuse to arrange themselves into a hierarchy: The first night, dancing with my eyes closed, when I felt my chest open in a way I had been bracing against for fifteen years. It was not catharsis. It was recognition. As if a room I had walked past my whole life had been quietly unlocked, and I finally went in. A small-group exercise on the second day when a near-stranger named, with terrifying accuracy, a financial pattern I had not said out loud to anyone — including myself. Instead of shame I felt relief. The field was so safe that the truth could not damage me; it could only liberate me.

A receiving practice in which I was asked to let a partner say one true, kind thing about me without deflecting. I lasted maybe four seconds before I laughed and tried to redirect. We did it again. I lasted longer. By the third round I could let the kindness land. I noticed, with some shock, that this was a measurable life skill I had been actively avoiding for years.

A long, slow walk outside the venue at dusk, when I realized I was not narrating my life in my head. There was no commentary. There was just walking. There was just enough.

The closing ceremony, when every person was witnessed by the whole room for one specific, embodied gift they had brought into the field. It was not flattery. It was accuracy. Being seen accurately is one of the most luminous experiences a human can have, and I had not understood, until then, how starved I was for it.

The dancefloor moment when a particular drop hit and the entire room seemed to inhale at once. I have danced my whole life. I had never felt a room breathe together before. I will not forget it. A quiet, almost throwaway sentence from Ammanuel, said gently across a circle on the third afternoon: You are allowed to have this. I cannot fully explain why those five words rearranged something fundamental, but they did. Permission, given precisely, at the moment the nervous system can finally hear it, is one of the most powerful technologies on earth.

The morning I realized I had not checked my phone in eighteen hours and had not noticed.

The meal where someone played a guitar from across the table and someone else hummed a harmony and the chef came out of the kitchen to listen with her hands on her hips and tears running freely down her face. Nobody pretended this was not happening. We all just ate slower so the song could finish.

The single second, late on the fourth night, when I understood that I was not performing being alive. I was just alive. And that this was always available. And that I had been doing the harder, sadder version of it for most of my life, and I did not have to anymore. These were not isolated highs. They were a series — and the series itself was the teaching. State stacked on state. Each peak a small piece of evidence the body filed away. By the end, my nervous system had a new reference library to draw from. That library is now a permanent resource. I cannot un-know what I was shown. That, more than any single moment, is what makes me say it without flinching: the time of my life.

VII. The Retreat — A Working Outline of an Immersion Where

Dancefloor and Dharma Are One Instrument What follows is a retreat outline in the lineage I have just described — a luxury immersion where aliveness, celebration, profound wisdom, and technical expertise are woven into a single fluid experience. It sits naturally inside the Non-Dual Holistic Abundance framework. It is a working laboratory for the seven dimensions of wealth, the gratitude-and-generosity ground, and the embodied recognition that everything flows from states.

Title: Luminous Prosperity Immersion — The Marriage of Dancefloor and Dharma Duration: Five days, four nights. Long enough for the nervous system to actually re-pattern. Short enough that working humans can attend without dismantling their lives.

Container Size: Twenty-eight to thirty-six guests. Large enough for field resonance. Small enough that everyone is seen by name and witnessed by the room in their specific gift before they leave. Setting: A nature-set property with three essential rooms — a movement temple with top-tier sound and lighting, a contemplative hall for stillness practice, and a hearth space for shared meals and council. Outdoor land for solo walks.

Considered luxury — plush cushions, quality linens, blackout rooms, no decorative clutter — chosen because it serves the nervous system, not because it looks impressive on a website. Core Promise: Guests leave with (1) a living, embodied reference state of luminous prosperity they can return to at will; (2) a personal practice architecture that fits their actual life; (3) a small ongoing community of people who saw them at their most alive; and (4) a recalibrated relationship with money, time, body, creativity, relationship, and belonging.

Day 0 — Landing

Staggered arrivals through the late afternoon. Warm tea. Soft lighting. Hammocks. No agenda. The opening circle in the evening is short on purpose: names, intentions in one sentence, a guided somatic landing, a simple shared meal, early sleep. The pedagogical move of the entire day is to establish that this container is unhurried. The nervous system relaxes the moment it understands it does not have to perform.

Day 1 — Ground: Gratitude as Recognition of Support

Morning: slow wake, light movement, optional silent breakfast. A teaching on gratitude not as a mood but as perception training. The Three Supports somatic meditation — chair, breath, warmth — extended to thirty minutes. Midday: a solo walk on the land with one question — What is already holding me? Lunch. Engineered rest. Afternoon: council in small groups, witness-only, no advice. A teaching on the difference between gratitude and toxic positivity. Evening: the first dancefloor, two hours, the arc moves grounded → peak → slow embodied closing. State work disguised as a party. A short integration sit. Soft food. Sleep.

Day 2 — Flow: Generosity, Receiving, and Circulation

Morning: a teaching on generosity as system design — receive, hold, circulate. Partner practice on receiving — letting one true, kind sentence land in the body without deflection. (This single practice rearranges lives.) Midday: solo time with a journaling prompt — Where am I hoarding? Where am I over-giving? What is the fear underneath each? Afternoon: council on money shame and money grief, carefully held. Followed by the clean no — saying no in a way that protects love rather than withdrawing it. Evening: a celebration ritual rather than a lecture. Live music. Family-style meal. Each person at the table named for one

specific gift they brought to the day. Optional late-night dancefloor for those still moving.

Day 3 — State: The Pivot Day

Morning: the keystone teaching of the week — everything flows from states. Live demonstration. Side-by-side comparison: same decision, two different states, two different lives. Guests begin to feel the claim verify itself in their own bodies. Midday: the State Library exercise. Each guest builds personal somatic recipes for three states they want on call — a working state, a loving state, a celebration state. Breath, posture, music, gesture, memory.

Afternoon: long break. Massages. Hot tubs. Naps. Walks. Art stations. Engineered rest, not filler. The nervous system metabolizes. Evening: The Wild Party. Three hours. Best DJ available. Ammanuel facilitates the arc with featherlight precision: stillness woven into motion woven into stillness. By the end, the entire room is in a shared field state nobody will forget. A short, quiet integration sit at the very end. Tears are normal. Laughter is normal. Holding hands with strangers who are no longer strangers is normal. Sleep is deep.

Day 4 — Application: Money, Work, Time, and the Seven

Dimensions Morning: practical day. Pricing audit. Income ecosystem map. Sacred budgeting. Relational wealth audit. Temporal abundance redesign. All taught from the inside of the state we have spent three days building. Midday: quiet lunch. Solo integration. Each guest drafts one small, specific, sustainable commitment per dimension. Afternoon: witness rounds. Each guest says their commitments aloud to a small group, which responds with yes, we see you. No advice. No edits. Just witness. Evening: a slower, devotional dancefloor. Music chosen for tenderness more than ecstasy. The field knows it is preparing to release us. We move with that knowing.

Day 5 — Re-Entry and Benediction

Morning: closing circle. Each person witnessed by name for the gift the room saw them embody. Specific. Accurate. Brief.

Devastating in the best way. A re-entry teaching — a clear protocol for the next 7, 30, and 90 days. Practice cadence.

Community structure. What to do when the state slips (it will). How to return without shame. Final shared meal, long and unhurried. Benediction. A short, luminous reading. The room exhales. We carry it home.

Why This Design Works

It works because it is not a workshop with a party tacked on, and not a party with a workshop tacked on. It is a single experience in which the dancefloor and the dharma are the same instrument played in different keys. The architecture honors that everything flows from states, so it spends its hours building states worth flowing from. It honors the seven dimensions of holistic abundance, so it touches money, time, body, relationship, creativity, ecology, and spirit not as topics but as living rooms in the same house. It honors non-duality, so it refuses every false split: serious vs. joyful, depth vs. pleasure, wisdom vs. wildness, earning vs. devotion.

And it works because Ammanuel and the Luminous Prosperity field do what almost no one else does: they take celebration seriously. They treat joy as a technical capacity to be cultivated. They treat the dancefloor as a teaching environment of the highest order. They treat the body as the place where transformation actually lands or doesn't. They treat your nervous system with the kind of respect usually reserved for sacred texts.
